Malawi

Formerly Nyasaland Protectorate, Malawi became an independent state on 6 July 1964, and a Republic within the Commonwealth in 1966.

• Order of the Lion  (Malawi) Established in 1967 and awarded for distinguished and outstanding service to the Republic of Malawi to military or civilian personnel, as well as by foreigners.
