Gadaffi honours African leaders The Libyan leader, Colonel Gadaffi, is reported to have presented eleven African leaders with medals, in appreciation of their decision to ignore the United Nations air embargo against his country. The presidents of Uganda, Niger, Chad and Eritrea were present at the ceremony. Libyan ambassador receives VUFO medal Salem Ali Salem Dannah, Secretary of the People's Bureau of Libya, has been awarded "For Peace and Friendship Between Nations Medal", in recognition of his devotion to friendly and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and Libya. The medal, the most notable reward of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), was presented to him by VUFO General Secretary Tran Dac Loi in Ha Noi. " Good Hope " The Golden Medal The 28th of October coincides with the anniversary in which the prominent African Freedom Fighter, Nelsen Mandela had decorated the Leader of the Revolution on this same day of 1997 with the " Good Hope " Golden Medal, the highest decoration granted by South Africa to honor those who had made great contributions to support the struggle of South African people to confront the apartheid regime. The African Freedom Fighter, Nelson Mandela has come to Great Jamahiriya on that day specially to decorate the Leader with this sublime medal . The decoration took place in a huge celebration at a hall that was named since then " Mandela Hall " in the city of Zawara, of al-Niqat al-Khams Shabia. Jordanian King Awarded Medal Jordan’s King Abdullah II received the Al Fateh Revolution Medal, a top honor in Libya. The medal was given to the King by the Libyan ambassador to Jordan, Mohammed Hassan Barghathi, in place of Libya’s leader, Muammar Ghaddafi. Barghathi told King Abdullah of Gaddafi’s wishes to continue strengthening ties between the two countries. The monarch also expressed the same thing, as well as pride in Jordan and Libyan’s close relationship.
