• Order of Kuwait  (Order of Ouissam al-Kuwait)  This Order was established in 1974. Pictured to the far left is the second design for this order, being the 5th Class of the order with rosette. During the first Gulf War (1990), stocks of the original Order of Kuwait were destroyed, and when it came time to manufacture more, it was decided to create a new design and ribbon. • France honors outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador France conferred on the outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Ahmad Al-Ibrahim the National Order of Merit, the rank of Grand Officer on the occasion of ending his seven-year tenure. Assistant Secretary General of the French Foreign Ministry Bruno Joubert said that Al-Ibrahim was being honored by the Foreign Ministry for all the efforts he has exerted for French-Kuwaiti relations during his tenure in Paris. kuna.net,kw 7 Jan 07
• Kuwait minister becomes first Arab to get top Japanese decoration for foreigners The Imperial Decoration of "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun" was awarded to Shaikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah by Japan's Emperor Akihito at a special ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.  Manama: Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Shaikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah on Thursday became the first Arab to be awarded Japan's highest-ranked decoration conferred on foreigners.  The distinction is in recognition of Shaikh Jaber's significant contribution to promoting mutual understanding as well as political, diplomatic, and environmental ties between Kuwait and Japan.  gulfnews.com 5 Nov  09

• In a ceremony held at the embassy to grant Britain's highest Medal ... British Ambassador to Kuwait Mr. Michael Aron presented Mr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Alshaya with an honorary CBE in recognition of his outstanding services in developing the British-Arabic business relation. Presenting the award on behalf of her Majesty the Queen, the Ambassador said that her majesty had appointed Mr. Alshaya to be an honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of these services.  pr2live.com 27 Dec 09
