Bahrain honours four women with Order of Merit Four Bahraini women have been awarded the Order of Merit of the First Class by Sheikha Sabika Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Salwa Al Umran, Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa, Dr Sheikha Al Urayyed and Huma Aseeri were awarded the medals "in appreciation of their contribution to the development of Bahrain," BNA added. Ireland honour for His Majesty His Majesty King Hamad yesterday accepted an honorary fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Board vice-chairman Professor Frank Kane expressed the RCSI's honour to present His Majesty with the fellowship in appreciation for the co-operation between Bahrain and Ireland. The honour had previously been granted to HH the late Amir, Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in 1995. Professor Kane hailed Bahrain's civilised status and achievements under His Majesty and its continued development in social, political and educational levels. King honours Sandhurst Military Academy scholar His Majesty King Hamad decorated Head of foreign students' affairs at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy Margaret Jones with Bahrain Medal First Class in appreciation of her distinguished role.
